About Basic Term Life Insurance coverage
As of March 1, 2025, LGFCU is no longer offers new Basic $1,000 Group Term Life Insurance. Administration of the insurance has transition to Civic Credit Union. Members with coverage don’t need to do anything during this changeover and your child/teen will remain eligible for the Basic $1,000 Group Term Life Insurance for as long as they maintain an active FAT CAT® Account or Zard Account. Coverage is available through the age of 19 or as long as a youth account is maintained. For details read the Certificate of Insurance.
Increase coverage for added protection
The Supplemental $9,000 FAT CAT and Zard Group Term Life Insurance coverage will expire on June 30, 2025. If you are a supplemental plan holder, State Employees' Credit Union Life will offer you a one-time opportunity to convert your term Supplemental coverage to an individual whole life insurance policy.
