Effective March 1, 2025, new FAT CAT and Zard Group Term Life Insurance will no longer be offered.

About Basic Term Life Insurance coverage

On March 1, 2025, LGFCU will no longer offer new Basic $1,000 Group Term Life Insurance. Administration of the insurance will transition to Civic Credit Union. Members with coverage don’t need to do anything during this changeover and your child/teen will remain eligible for the Basic $1,000 Group Term Life Insurance for as long as they maintain an active FAT CAT® Account or Zard Account. Coverage is available through the age of 19 or as long as a youth account is maintained. For details read the Certificate of Insurance.

Increase coverage for added protection

The Supplemental $9,000 FAT CAT and Zard Group Term Life Insurance coverage will expire on June 30, 2025. If you are a supplemental plan holder, State Employees' Credit Union Life will offer you a one-time opportunity to convert your term Supplemental coverage to an individual whole life insurance policy. For more information about the whole life plan offering, contact SECU Life at 855.732.8467.
